Michael joined Horwath Clark Whitehill in June 2007 as an audit and assurance partner in Manchester. He was appointed Head of the Audit & Assurance team in the North West shortly after joining and became Managing Partner for the Manchester office in June 2008.
Previously part of the senior management team at a Big Four firm, he headed up their North of England Financial Services team and was a member of the national Quality and Risk Committee.
Michael is responsible for providing audit and assurance services to clients which include listed companies, entrepreneurial businesses, LLPs, owner managed businesses and not for profit organisations. His experience and portfolio covers entities ranging from Global organisations to local entities and he has valuable experience in working with finance teams in all such organisations. He is therefore familiar with the differing risks, requirements and challenges that financial reporting and GAAPs present for these diverse range o entities.
Michael has a great deal of experience in both UK GAAP and IFRS requirements for financial reporting and in the case of the latter has lectured on specific topics including the introduction of IAS 39 to the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
Michael’s clients are drawn from sectors including financial services, charitable, technology, telecommunications, property and professional services.
