Neil is a tax partner in the Cheltenham office and he joined the firm in 1986. He has special responsibility for providing business/personal and trust tax planning advice. He spends the majority of his time advising clients on remuneration planning, structuring sales and acquisitions and capital tax planning. He led the campaign challenging the HM Revenue & Customs on behalf of taxpayers who received a bonus from the C&G take-over by Lloyds TSB. His successful contention resulted in taxpayers saving approximately £100million as it set a precedent for this and other similar cases. Neil had his own editorial column giving tax advice in the Sunday Telegraph. Neil is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is authorised to give Financial Services advice.
