Nigel joined the firm in 1991 as a graduate trainee and became a partner in April 2005. During his time with the firm he has obtained a wide range of experience from working in both the firm’s London and Manchester offices. Nigel is a partner specialising in the audit of corporate and LLP clients from private entrepreneurial businesses to AIM and fully listed entities. He has valuable experience with financial reporting at all levels and is therefore familiar with the requirements and challenges these present for different entities. His experience and portfolio covers listed, group, subsidiary and private companies across a range of industry sectors operating both within the UK and Internationally. Nigel specialises in both the UK GAAP and the IFRS requirements for financial reporting and assists within the firm on technical financial reporting matters. His responsibilities within the firm include the coordination and development of the firm’s International Financial Reporting Standards Group. Nigel has developed the firm’s own internal publications on IFRS and is a co-author of the Informa Self Study Course ‘IFRS in Practice’. He also presents on IFRS to the Horwath International Audit and Assurance Committee. Nigel has worked with a number of listed companies on the specific challenges arising from the accounting treatment and financial reporting for share based payments. In addition to auditing and financial reporting, Nigel advises on employee share schemes, valuations and employment matters.
