Guidance for Independent schools Benchmarking Financial Performance in Independent Schools 2008 The 2008 National Independent Schools' Benchmarking Survey has been compiled form 501 questionnaire returns covering over 308,000 pupils. Its purpose is to help school Bursars, Heads, Treasurers and Governors benchmark the financial performance of their own school and get an understanding of the trends within the school sector. The survey included 501 schools covering over 308,000 pupils. The Independent Schools' Bursars Association has kindly continued to support and encourage participation in the survey.
