Horwath Clark Whitehill has a long standing involvement with charity clients providing a wide range of added value services.

We have built our reputation in the sector by making a commitment to total involvement and giving something back.

This involves the use of key specialist staff in the provision of our advice providing a partner led service and all of our manager team are also specialists, trained to understand sector needs. All of our charities provide plenty of challenges to us and also a sense of reward when we assist them. This remains a sector that has been part of our success and that involvement means we are committed to our clients' success.

Horwath Clark Whitehill has developed an annual programme of seminars and training courses aimed at promoting best practice and providing trustees and finance teams up-to-date tools to manage the financial well being of the charity.

Over the last 10 years members of our team have been directly involved in drawing up the accounting requirments of the Charities Act and drafting the original statement of recommended practice - 'Accounting by Charities'. Andrew Pianca and Greyham Dawes have also authored a number of books on accounting and reporting.

In addition we have close contact with key interest groups such as the Charity Finance Directors' Group, ACEVO and NCVO.

We are also regularly involved in discussions with the Charity Commission and other professional advisers in the sector, particularly lawyers, investment managers and bankers.
